HERRING BRIDGE PROJECT
As part of the £121m contract by BAM Farrans Joint Venture,
C-Met provided continuous inspection and surveillance support throughout the 18-month fabrication phase of the Herring Bridge Project.
In this case, the project involved an 18-month surveillance period, where inspection support assisted in the prevention of welding, coating, fabrication, and workmanship issues before developing into major project concerns.

By raising observations early, recording defects clearly, and supporting practical discussions around mediation, C-Met
assisted the project team in managing issues in a controlled
and constructive way.
The inspection process provided a clear link between the major contractor, designer, client representatives, and fabricator. This assisted in supporting the contract programme certainty by ensuring defects were identified and addressed while works were still accessible before the could create greater risk during later stages of delivery.
